David Onoprishvili Attends Executive Committee Meeting of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in Zurich
On June 18–19, a strategic working meeting of the Macroprudential Committee and the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) is taking place in Zurich, Switzerland. David Onoprishvili, Chairman of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia is participating in the meeting as a member representing the Central, Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia (CEET) region on the Executive Committee.
The event includes discussions on the strategic directions and action plan of the organization for 2025–2026. Key topics include the methodology for transitioning to a risk-based solvency model, regulation of artificial intelligence in supervision and ways to respond to future challenges.
During the meeting, participants will also review high-level principles such as the Insurance Capital Standard (ICS), issues related to fair treatment of a broad spectrum of consumers, the impact of operational resilience and climate risks on the insurance sector.
The second day of the session is dedicated to refining IAIS's strategic plans, exploring ways to better serve the public interest and discussing governance changes aimed at increasing the organization’s effectiveness from 2025 to 2029.
IAIS is a global platform that brings together insurance supervisory authorities and promotes financial stability. David Onoprishvili’ s participation in such a high-level international forum emphasizes Georgia's active involvement in global insurance supervisory processes.
