CESEE ISI 2025 – INSURANCE SUPERVISORS REGIONAL MEETING
On 16 October 2025, David Onoprishvili, Chairman of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, hosts the Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European Insurance Supervision Initiative (CESEE ISI) meeting – the first time ever held in Georgia.
A total of 30 representatives from insurance supervisory authorities across 12 countries (including 13 jurisdictions) are participating in the meeting in Tbilisi including Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina (including Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)), Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia. Among guests are high-level supervisors from six countries: Peter Braumüller, managing director for Insurance, Pension and Corporate Provision Companies Supervision of the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), who was the main supporter in organizing the meeting, Gorazd Cibej (Slovenia), Ivan Luburic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Marco Ivanovic (Montenegro), Adrian Gheorghita (Moldova) and Sorin Cristinel Mititelu (Romania).
CESEE ISI is a multi-annual cooperation platform, aiming to strengthen collaboration among insurance supervisors, harmonize regulatory approaches and promote the exchange of international standards. Annual working meetings are hosted by participating countries, focusing on timely and market-relevant supervisory issues.
The key topics of the present meeting include Consumer Protection Today; Emergency Roles of Insurance Supervisors; Supervisory Practice on Suitability of Management and Supervisory Boards and Challenges in MTPL & Casco Insurance – Pre-liberalization Activities.
The event highlights Georgia’s growing role in the regional insurance supervision landscape and represents a significant step towards enhancing regulatory processes and deepening international cooperation.
