INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF CONSUMER RIGHTS

March 13-17, for the first time, Georgia is the host country of the international week of consumer rights. The events are organized by Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, National Bank of Georgia, GNERC, Communications Commission, National Agency of Competition and National Food Agency.

Within the framework of the week, the first meeting was held Tbilisi City Assembly, university reception with students where Ekaterine Tsereteli, a deputy head of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, addressed the audience.

At different events of the Week, the regulatory agencies will discuss the reforms implemented in the area of consumer rights protection, the achieved results, current challenges, enforcement mechanisms, effective consumer awareness campaigns and international experiences concerning their sectors.

The main goal of these events is to raise awareness and strengthen the quality of consumer rights protection in Georgia.

International Consumer Rights Day has been celebrated worldwide since 1983. Georgian financial sector joined the international tradition for the first time in 2021.
