CLOSURE OF CONSUMER RIGHTS PROTECTION WEEK
Batumi hosted the closing event of the International Week of Consumer Rights Protection. The representatives of Batumi City Hall, consumer rights organizations, international organizations and business sector attended the event.
The speeches were made by directors of ISSSG, National Competition Agency, GNERC, Communications Commission, NBG and National Food Agency.
The conference speakers reviewed current situation in terms of consumer rights, related challenges and the possible solutions. The representatives of different agencies introduced the project in the area of consumer rights.
On the same day, a panel discussion was held were the representatives of regulatory agencies, within their competence, presented their achievements in the area of human rights. Mariam Koshoridze, head of consumer human rights protection and financial education division, in her presentation, highlighted the activities carried out by ISSSG for the protection of consumer rights and reviewed the current regulatory framework.
International Week of human rights protection aimed to raise public awareness and strengthen the quality of consumer rights protection in Georgia.
International Day of Consumer Rights Protection has been celebrated in the world since 1983. Financial sector of Georgia joined the international tradition in 2021.
